The Kyokushinkai Kan School of Karate was developed over a period of many years by the well known Master Masutatsu (Mas) Oyama (1923-1994), following his experiences in Asia and the U.S.A.
Mas Oyama shared his knowledge, philosophy and techniques and formed one of the largest Karate Organizations in the World, with its Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, and Schools throughout the continents, including North and South America, Western and Eastern Europe, Africa and of course Asia.
Some famous members of the Kyokushin School of Karate include the King Juan Carlos of Spain, the Prince of Jordan, Cassius Clay (Mohammed Ali) and Sean Connery.
Kyokushin Karate is considered one of the strongest and most disciplined styles of Karate, characterized by rigorous training and in many instances, full contact sparring!!!
Kata and the Zen aspects of the Martial Arts are also emphasized.
